The best AI visibility tools in 2026, compared

AI visibility tools show how often ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other AI assistants mention a brand. They differ most in who they’re built for and how they charge. We grouped eight by use case rather than ranking them. Askray is our product; every other tool’s details are from its own website, checked on 18 October 2026.

Updated 18 October 2026

What to compare

  • Which assistants. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot and Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode often recommend different businesses. Many plans let you pick a few and charge for the rest.
  • Whose questions. Most tools track the prompts you write. Some suggest them, some draw on a database of real searches, and Askray writes them from your website.
  • How often. Trackers run your prompts daily or weekly. A one-off report measures once, when you need it.
  • How it charges. Most are monthly subscriptions priced by the number of prompts. Check what an extra engine costs before comparing plans.

For brands and marketing teams

  • Peec AI. A daily tracker from Berlin used by brands and agencies. Plans from $95 a month (50 prompts) to $495 (350 prompts), each with three engines of your choice, plus competitor benchmarks, sources and citations, sentiment, recommendations and exports to Looker Studio, an API and MCP. Read our Askray vs Peec AI comparison for how it differs from a one-off report.
  • Profound. An enterprise platform, used by a third of the Fortune 100 by its own account, that tracks up to nine answer engines and adds AI agents for content, PR and campaigns. A free seven-day trial covers 50 prompts on three engines; paid plans are priced on request.
  • Scrunch. Tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google’s AI Mode and AI Overviews and Meta. Starter is $300 a month month-to-month or $250 billed yearly, with 350 custom prompts, and comes with a seven-day trial; Growth is $500.

If you already use an SEO suite

The big SEO platforms have added AI visibility. If you pay for one already, start there before adding another subscription.

  • Semrush. AI visibility comes in its SEO + AI Search plans, from €134 a month (€112.52 billed yearly), with daily prompt tracking from the Starter plan up. Its free plan includes some AI visibility features.
  • Ahrefs Brand Radar. Track your own prompts from €47 a month, free in small amounts on paid Ahrefs plans, or use its AI Visibility Index, from €179 a month, drawn from a database of over 481 million prompts.
  • SE Ranking. Its AI Search add-on tracks ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode and Perplexity for €79 a month (€63.20 billed yearly).

On a small budget

  • Otterly.AI. The lowest entry price among the trackers: Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts, Standard $189 for 100 and Premium $489 for 400, with 15% off billed yearly and a free trial. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot are included; Claude, Gemini and AI Mode are add-ons.

For a local business, or a one-off check

  • Askray (ours). A report rather than a tracker, built for local and small businesses. Give it your website: it writes the questions your customers would ask, puts them to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini several times each, and shows who is recommended and why, the searches behind the answers, the sites the assistants read and what to change first. The first scan is free with ChatGPT; a full report is €39 + VAT, once, with no subscription.

Askray doesn’t track a prompt list daily or cover Perplexity and Copilot. If you need those, one of the trackers above fits better.

How to choose

  1. Decide how often you need to know

If AI visibility is a monthly report to your team or your clients, you need a tracker. If you want to know where you stand and what to fix, a one-off report is enough to start.

  2. List the assistants your customers use

Then check each plan for what those engines cost: several trackers include three and charge for more.

  3. Count your questions

Trackers charge by prompts. Ten services in five cities is already 50 prompts.

  4. Try before you commit

Most offer a free trial or a free scan. Run the same questions in two tools and see which explains the result better.
