Askray vs Peec AI: which AI visibility tool fits you?

Both show whether ChatGPT and other AI assistants recommend a business. Peec AI is a monthly subscription that tracks your prompts every day, built for brands and agencies. Askray is a one-off report for a local or small business. Askray is our product; Peec AI’s details below are from its own site, checked on 18 October 2026.

The short answer

  • Choose Peec AI if you’re a brand or an agency that wants daily tracking of many prompts across several AI engines, competitor benchmarks over time, and exports into your reporting.
  • Choose Askray if you run a local or small business and want to know, once, whether ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini recommend you, who they name instead and why, without a subscription.

They aren’t mutually exclusive. Some businesses start with a one-off report to see where they stand, and move to a tracker once AI visibility is part of their monthly marketing.

What Peec AI does well

Peec AI, based in Berlin, is one of the best-known AI visibility trackers. You set up the prompts your buyers might type, choose the AI engines to track, and Peec runs them daily. Over weeks you see how often your brand appears, in what position and tone, how you compare with competitors on the same prompts, and which sources the engines cite.

That makes it a good fit when AI search is a channel you report on every month: a marketing team proving progress, or an agency running AI visibility for many clients, with exports to Looker Studio or its API.

What Askray does differently

  • No subscription. You pay for one report when you want one. A local business that checks a couple of times a year pays a fraction of a year of tracking.
  • No prompts to write. Askray reads your website, works out your service and area, and writes the questions your customers would ask, such as “best accountant for a small business in Austin”.
  • Three assistants in every report. ChatGPT and Claude answer with web search, Gemini from memory, so you see both what they find today and what they already believe about your market.
  • Asked more than once. Answers vary from one try to the next, so each question is asked repeatedly and the figures are shares of all the answers, not one lucky try.
  • The why, not only the score. The report shows the searches the assistants ran before answering, the sites they read, the reasons they gave for recommending your competitors, and what to change first.

What Askray doesn’t do: daily tracking of your own prompt list, engines such as Perplexity or Copilot, or exports into reporting tools. If you need those, a tracker such as Peec AI fits better.

What a year costs

Peec AI’s Starter plan at $95 a month is about $1,140 a year billed monthly, or around 15% less billed yearly, for 50 prompts on three engines, tracked daily.

With Askray, a report is €39 + VAT. Four reports a year, one a quarter, come to €156 + VAT, and each one measures your whole market with three assistants. You don’t pay in the months you don’t look.

Other Peec AI alternatives

  • Otterly.AI is the lowest-priced tracker of its kind, from $29 a month for 15 prompts.
  • Scrunch and Profound are trackers for larger brands, with more prompts, more engines and enterprise features.
  • Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking have added AI visibility to their SEO suites, which suits you if you already pay for one of them.
